It happened on February 9th 2001. The Sheffield Steelers versus the Nottingham Panthers. It has come to known as: The infamous bench clearance brawl.
Why did the police not prosecute? The violence took place in front of hundreds of families.

Hockey matches? All I can say is that I did security for the Belfast Giants. Off pitch it was mellow, families, y'know. Obviously on pitch it was a "physical" game.
