Public Disorder Filmed

Thousands of witnesses. Film evidence. But weirdly, no prosecutions. Bent Society?

It happened on February 9th 2001. The Sheffield Steelers versus the Nottingham Panthers. It has come to known as: The infamous bench clearance brawl.

Why did the police not prosecute? The violence took place in front of hundreds of families.

Hockey matches? All I can say is that I did security for the Belfast Giants. Off pitch it was mellow, families, y'know. Obviously on pitch it was a "physical" game.
