Criminology Student Puts Theory into Practice

Persue, Natalie, (Criminology). Guilty of money Laundering. Sentenced to 120 hours community service and £100 costs.

Persue had accepted almost £18,0000 of money stolen from the account of scientist Sir Peter Hirsch ( Emeritus Professor at Oxford's department of materials ) which – in turn - was part of a larger £800,000 fraud on 50 account holders. She was working in cahoots with a “friend” and – being two months pregnant and all alone - the court believed her story that she has been ‘used’ by him as she made eight withdrawals from Barclays Bank in December 2008.

We hope Persue will pursue an illustrious career as a criminologist in a discipline where most academics have never even so much as knowingly spoken with a convicted offender.
