The University of Crime

We have apparently reached a state of consensus in orthodox criminology knowledge that prisons act as universities of crime. Weirdly however nobody has ever studied the phenomenon.

Prisons aside, do some universities have more criminals than others? Are some universities universities of crime?

This question began our perpetual gonzo research project over at the University of Crime blog. It may take many decades before clear patterns emerge across the world. Problems do exist in terms of our methodological built-in bias in terms of our reliance upon mass media news coverage. That said, The University of Michigan (USA) is already standing out as a very peculiar place with more than its fair share of killers. Why might that be so. Check it out by clicking here.
